Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat! Are you ready for Halloween? I know my kids have been counting down the days for weeks now. We always have family over to our house on Halloween, so the kids and their cousins can go trick or treating together. We've been busy getting costumes ready, pumpkins painted and carved, and decorations put up!

I put together a Halloween Activity Set that works really well for embracing the fun of the holiday while still getting in some quality learning. Of course, I had to include opportunities for hands on play with two Play-doh mats. Play-doh is so wonderful for working those little hand muscles and improving fine motor skills! You can practice counting by adding "candy" to the jack-o-lantern, and make jack-o-lantern faces.

The literacy activities include short a activities, kindergarten sight words, and a set of candy corn alphabet cards. The alphabet cards can be used for sight word practice, name spelling, or even spelling Halloween related words. There is also a handwriting page and and a set of uppercase/lowercase letter matching cards.

It's easy to practice counting when you're counting candy, ghosts, and goblins! The math activities include a counting worksheet, 1-10 number puzzles, a 10 frame and 20 frame with 1-20 number cards. A full color pumpkin book gives kids the opportunity to practice writing numbers 1-5.

Whatever you end up doing this Halloween, I wish you a day full or treats and happy memories!
